Advocacy Academy

The Student Senate for California Community Colleges is proud to announce the first annual Advocacy Academy, at the Riverside Convention Center in downtown Riverside, December 1 - 3, 2023. This empowering event will provide students with the skills needed to advocate for change on their campus and in their communities. This academy is not just for students interested in politics, participants will learn strategies for influencing campus leaders, trustee boards, city councils, and legislators. Whether advocating to fellow students or a senator, the skills are the same–negotiating, communicating, and relationship building – students will gain a greater understanding of these skills and many more.  

Save the date now! As with many SSCCC large events, the hotels will fill quickly.  Don’t wait until fall to approve your budget!
