SSCCC Board Officers
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges and consists of six Board Officers, ten Regional Affairs Directors, ten Legislative Affairs Directors, and the Executive Director. The board directs the activities and affairs of the organization, implements the resolutions passed by the Delegate Assembly, and serves as the collective voice of the Regions to promote cooperation and best practices.

President
Clemaus Tervalon (He/Him/His) is a student at College of Alameda studying Political Science and hopes to transfer after completing his Associate Degree. He is a retired veteran from the US Navy and is passionate about serving nontraditional students and underrepresented student populations. In his spare time, Clemaus enjoys art, aviation, autosports and spending time with his wife and family.

Vice President
Marco Martinez (He/Him/His) has a special understanding of community colleges and the needs of students, having attended three different community colleges in the Central Valley simultaneously, he has been a student at Bakersfield College, Porterville College, and Taft College. Before joining the SSCCC, Marco served as a Representative, Executive Officer, and President of various honor societies, clubs, campus committees, and in Student Government. He also brings experience as a former Regional Affairs Director and now transitioning into the vice president position. He is particularly passionate about DEIAA efforts that align with the needs of community college students.

Vice President of Regional Affairs
Jessica Dominguez (She/Her/Hers) is a student at College of the Desert majoring in Political Science. She served as a Region IX delegate for the 2020-21 school year, it was in this position as a delegate where she learned how much public policy affects the lives of our students. Jessica’s work as a delegate has inspired her to work towards implementing effective policies and practices that truly improve our community college system and in turn improves the lives of its students.

Vice President of Legislative Affairs
Zachariah Wooden (He/Him/His)is a Political Science major studying at San Joaquin Delta College. He plans to transfer to CSU Sacramento to complete his bachelor’s degree and then enroll in law school to further his ability to serve the community, a goal he’s been striving toward since middle school. In his role as VPLA, he intends to uplift and engage with underrepresented communities, encourage the representation of diverse viewpoints, and work with students, system partners, and policymakers to continue creating a California community college system that provides the opportunity for all students to succeed A couple of fun facts about him -- he has lived in Germany for about half of his life as a member of a U.S. Army family and he has a strong passion for all kinds of history.

Vice President of Finance
Ryan Foley (He/Him/His) is a student studying business administration and political science at Santiago Canyon College. He plans to pursue a career in developmental economics and wants to use his degree to give back to the community and alleviate the problems and challenges that less-developed countries commonly face. Ryan is eager to delve into the opportunities the SSCCC presents and contribute to a much larger goal of being part of tangible change in the community.

Vice President of Communications
Casey Chang (She/Her/Hers) is a student at Mission College in Santa Clara. She recently received her Liberal Arts Natural Science and Mathematics Associate's Degree and plans to transfer into Environmental Science. She is passionate about bettering the community college experience for those who are underrepresented, especially within the AAPI community. One of her priorities as VPC is to fill the Communications Officer positions in all of the regions and help build connections with students through communication efforts (social media, flyers, and events). She is thrilled to positively, passionately, and persistently serve the SSCCC in her role.

John Foucault (He/Him/His) is a student at Mendocino College studying Political Science and hopes to transfer to UC Davis after completing his Associate's Degree at Mendocino College. He is passionate about getting people involved in student representation, other organizations, and activities within their communities. He is particularly interested in ensuring people especially community college students get their voices.

Region I Legislative Affairs Director
Alejandro (Alex) Corona (He/Him/His) is a biology major attending Mendocino College, where he serves as Student Trustee. He hopes to one day attend and graduate from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His interests lie in student engagement and representation, with a particular interest in advocacy for STEM students of color. During his time out of class and ASG responsibilities, he tutors a variety of STEM subjects and involves himself in student life.

Haily Holston (she/her/hers) is a student studying Bioengineering at Sacramento City College. She aspires to transfer to complete her bachelor’s next fall. Haily recently ended her term as Sacramento City’s Student Senate President in Spring 2022 and aims to continue campus leadership in the coming academic year. Haily is passionate about STEM advocacy and working with younger students to strengthen math skills as a personal tutor. In her free time Haily enjoys reading, picnics, and rollerblading.

Surpreet Kaur (She/Her/Hers) is currently enrolled at Contra Costa College as a Middle College High School student and is majoring in Computer Science. Surpreet is a first-generation student and the daughter of an immigrant. Surpreet believes that students are the cornerstone of the educational system. She is committed to ensuring that no student is ever excluded because of their appearance, race, gender, sexuality, or any other factor. She values equitable learning spaces for all and embraces ethnic, linguistic, and gender representation across the colleges. Surpreet’s empathy and conviction allow her to ensure all student voices are heard and uplifted. Lastly, her desire to make a difference extends to the colleges and their mission, and it is her hope that this passion will make positive and lasting impressions both personally and academically. She spends her personal time indulging in adventurous activities, such as rock climbing, hiking, bungee jumping, and more.

Chanelle Win (she/her/hers) is a student from Diablo Valley College (DVC) majoring in Business Administration and Political Science. She currently serves as the Vice President of Legislative Affairs for ASDVC as well. She believes in the potential of the students we represent and is eager to continue SSCCC’s student advocacy. She is passionate about issues such as campus safety, campus housing, equal opportunities, and many more issues that are directly impacting us. She hopes to transfer to a UC to continue her academic year after Diablo Valley College. After her undergraduate studies, she hopes to go to law school and achieve her dreams to become a corporate lawyer.

Aaron Villarreal (He/Him/His) is a student at West Hills College Lemoore (WHCL) studying Business Administration. He serves as the Vice President of WHCL’s Associated Student Government (ASG) program. Aaron hopes to further his academic career by transferring to a higher education institution. Aaron has developed a deep passion and appreciation for California community colleges -- their programs, policies, impacts, and more importantly their students. Aaron wishes to give back to these many communities to help amplify voices needing to be heard and help build on ideas while executing immediate actions benefiting our student’s futures and endeavors.

Mary Poitier (She/Her/Hers) is a returning student at Moorpark College and is majoring in dance. She previously served as the President of the Associated Students at Moorpark College. Her dream is to continue to advocate for students and ultimately have a career in the political arena to serve others. Mary's hobbies include dancing, reading, hiking, and acting.

Darius Jones (He/Him/His) is political science major and student at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. At Cuesta, Darius serves as President of the Associated Students of Cuesta College, Student Trustee, and the Vice President of the Black Student Union. Darius plans to transfer to a university where he can continue studying political science and ultimately earn a law degree.

Michael Green II (Him/He/His) is a Gender Studies student at Santiago Canyon College. He plans to transfer to the university that best fits his academic and personal goals, to complete his bachelor degree with and the possibility of subsequently enrolling in law school. His ongoing goal is to gain the skills, connections, and knowledge needed to help create the world he would like to see. He’s passionate about empowerment and developing empathy in leadership which he attempts to model in the various leadership roles he has been granted. In his free time, he enjoys listening to audiobooks and playing basketball!

Kisha Mehta (she/her) is a student studying Economics at Cypress College. where she also serves as the Cypress College Student Trustee. Through her involvement in various advocacy positions, Kisha has gained an intimate understanding of community disparities that affect students, as well as the support necessary to claim student power and navigate campus climates. Currently serving as the Cypress College Student Trustee, she is passionate about improving the shared experience of all California community college students. In her free time, Kisha enjoys going on walks, listening to documentaries narrated by David Attenborough, and perfecting the art of homemade pasta.

Region X LAD Stephanie Wu (Xinyi Wu)
Stephanie Wu (she/her) is a student studying Biology and Public Health. She is planning on transferring to a four-year institution to pursue a career in medicine with the ultimate goal of becoming an emergency doctor. She’s a few months away from being a licensed EMT! She is very passionate about access to basic needs, including access to free menstrual products for students, and has been working to make it a reality after passing AB 367, a bill that guarantees just that. She believes that political spaces should not just be reserved for the few, but should be something that everyone should have easy access into. Through her efforts, she has been able to reach audiences around the world, including Kenya and Costa Rica, to destigmatize menstruation. In the leadership roles that she is positioned, she focuses on creating a space where leadership is inclusive in every aspect.

Dr. Julie Adams, CAE
Dr. Adams has over 30 years of experience in nonprofit management. Prior to joining the Student Senate, Julie provided, for more than 20 years, the organizational oversight of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, served as the transition manager for Umoja Community Foundation, and started her own business -- Agile Association Management Solutions. She also teaches part-time at Cosumnes River College in Business.
After serving in the US Army, she attended more than six California community colleges, received her Bachelor's Degree in Business from California State University - Sacramento, an MBA from the University of California – Davis, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration, with a concentration in nonprofit management and leadership, from Walden University. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and CalSAE (California Chapter). She also has a Nonprofit Board Consulting Certificate from Board Source.
