Nina Mistry Haywood


Nina Mistry Haywood (she/her/hers) is studying Public Policy and Economics at Foothill College. She is also involved in the Associated Students of Foothill College (ASFC) as the Student Government Secretary. Nina is passionate about creating and maintaining policies that promote equity and give back to the community. She is also very passionate about reviewing internal policies as the ASFC Bylaws Committee Vice Chair and a member of the SSCCC Internal Affairs Committee. She is planning to transfer to UC Riverside to finish out a 4+1 program to get her Masters in Public Policy. Nina is also the Co-President of the Foothill Desi Student Union (DSU) and the Foothill Fund the Future Club. DSU promotes and celebrates India and the heritage of the surrounding countries. Fund the Future is a micro-credit club that works with non-profits to promote small businesses and economic welfare in third-world countries, primarily Namaste Direct, Dream Volunteers, and Kiva. She is also part of the Foothill Guatemala Teacher Corps. She is teaching English to 8th through 12th-grade students at Dream Volunteers School in Guatemala.
