Dyami Ruiz-Martinez

Dyami Ruiz-Martinez (He/Him/His) is the Regional Affairs Director for Region IX at the Student Senate for California Community Colleges. Currently serving as a Student Trustee at the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees, he also holds the position of Vice Chair of the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee. Previously, Ruiz-Martinez demonstrated his leadership abilities as the Executive Vice President of the San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) Associated Student Government (ASG). In this role, he actively contributed to the development of the academic master plan, increased resources for student clubs, and facilitated more internship opportunities for SBVC students. His commitment to advocacy led him to travel to Washington DC, where he proposed policy recommendations to congressional leaders and engaged with US Federal Agencies to promote the expansion of grant opportunities for higher education. As a Licensed California Real Estate Broker, Dyami's academic interests revolve around Public Policy, Government Administration and Finance, Non-Profit Administration and Finance, and Real Estate. In the upcoming academic year, he plans to pursue further education through a graduate program, aiming to continue his contributions in these areas. Dyami Ruiz-Martinez is a passionate advocate for expanding basic needs, promoting financial literacy, advocating for affordable housing, and eliminating barriers for college students.
