Internal Committees
The SSCCC has the following twelve internal committees. All Board of Directors members are expected to sit on at least one of the internal committees. Additional student members may be added to select committees as non-voting members. All internal meetings are open to the public. Audit Committee
Purpose and Scope of Responsibility of Committee The Audit Committee oversees the organization’s regular outside financial audits. The primary purpose of Audit Committee is to provide oversight of the financial reporting process, the audit process, the SSCCC’s system of internal controls and compliance with laws and regulations.

Caucus Committee
The Caucus Committee is charged with supporting and promoting the caucuses affiliated with the SSCCC.

Communications Committee
Purpose and Scope of Responsibility of Committee The Communications Committee is responsible for developing, updating, and monitoring the SSCCC communications policies, social networking, and website. The Communications Committee also recommends to regions and the Board of Directors new ways to communicate with students, members, public, and other interested parties. The Communications Committee informs the delegates, member senates, students, interested parties and the public of the actions of the organization to provide transparency.

Conference Committee
The Conference Committee plans the annual General Assembly.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility (DEIAA) Committee
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility (DEIAA) Committee is a standing committee charged with facilitating the development of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices within the SSCCC and statewide.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is a subcommittee of, and accountable to, the Board of Directors, and shall act on behalf of the Board between Board meetings. All actions taken by the Executive Committee shall be reported to the Board during its next meeting, or upon the request of any Director, whichever comes first. The membership of the Executive Committee shall be the President, Vice President, Vice President of Regional Affairs, Vice President of Legislative Affairs, Vice President of Finance, and Vice President of Communications and the Executive Director (ex officio, without the right to vote).

Finance Committee
Purpose and Scope of Responsibility of Committee: The Board Finance Committee is a standing committee charged to guide, oversee, and support the financial and tax practices of the organization, including approval and conformance regarding up-to-date fiscal policies and procedures, development of the annual budget, and ensuring accurate tracking and analysis of financial highlights, trends, and issues. In addition, ensure conformance to relevant financial and tax rules and regulations.

Internal Affairs Committee
The SSCCC Internal Affairs Committee is a standing committee charged with facilitating the development of training materials for regions on various topics, approving regional accountability reports, developing regional policies, and other internal affairs matters as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Legislative Affairs Committee
The Legislative Affairs Committee is charged with developing, monitoring, and implementing the legislative priorities of the SSCCC. Its duties include providing advocacy and training resources, engaging in the legislative process, and communicating SSCCC’s priorities and positions to stakeholders.

Regional Affairs Committee
Purpose and Scope of the Regional Affairs Committee. The Regional Affairs Committee is a standing committee charged with matters pertaining to regional participation and development, statewide engagement and collaboration, as well as advocacy resources and support for California Community College students.

Regional Finance and Fundraising Committee
Purpose and Scope of Responsibility of Committee. The Regional Finance and Fundraising Committee is charged with addressing the needs and growth of the SSCCC through communication with the treasurers from each region; provide guidance to the Board of Directors on matters related to income and expenditures for current operations and future fiscal objectives; and for identifying fundraising strategies on regional and state-wide level.

Resolutions Committee
The Resolutions Committee is a standing committee charged with overseeing all matters related to resolutions by the SSCCC.
