Jacob Roe
Jacob Roe (He/Him/His) is a driven first-generation, second-year community college student at Sierra College, majoring in Political Science. Within the college, Jacob is involved in various spaces, working as a Native American Peer Leader and serving on various participatory governance committees. He takes on leadership roles as the Native American Student Success and Support Program (NASSSP) grant student representative and president of the Native Americans of Sierra College (NASC) club. Additionally, he is both an Umoja and Wonoti Scholar as well as a distinguished member of the Beta Mu Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.Looking ahead, Jacob intends to pursue a baccalaureate degree in political science, followed by matriculation into a Tribal Law program. His ultimate career goal is to serve a Tribal Lawyer, with a strong focus on advancing tribal sovereignty and increasing land rights for Native Americans. While Jacob is deeply passionate about various political issues, he holds a special dedication to empowering student leaders within the California Community College (CCC) system. He strives to support the leadership within Region II and advance students’ accessibility to leadership opportunities.
