David Orta
As a Computer Science and Film major at Hartnell College, David Orta has dedicated himself to enriching the campus community by serving on the student council, advocating for equity and accessibility, and engaging in artistic and scientific pursuits. As a student with disabilities (DSPS), he has worked tirelessly to promote equity in various areas, such as participating in the Racial Equity Task Force and launching the Summer Celebration of Diversity. As a student filmmaker and emerging scientist, David has produced a movie series featuring Hartnell students and alumni, volunteered with international nonprofit Science Voices, and competed in the NASA MITTIC innovation contest with the Pantherbotics Astronomy/STEM team. His passions for music, motion pictures, space, and video games fuel his commitment to creating an inclusive and vibrant college experience for all.
