The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) advocates for current and future students by advancing affordability, accessibility, and equity—core pillars of its legislative priorities—while also developing student leaders through professional and civic engagement opportunities.
To support this mission, the Student Fellowship Program offers a structured, year-long experience that equips students with hands-on training in policy analysis, legislative advocacy, and stakeholder engagement. Fellows contribute to advocacy strategies and statewide initiatives while working closely with SSCCC legislative leadership to translate policy priorities into student-centered action.
Through workshops, trainings, and real-world advocacy experiences, Fellows engage directly in the legislative process, including bill analysis and policy development. The Fellowship runs beginning around September 2026 and concluding in June 2027, and is structured to ensure progressive development through phased learning, applied advocacy, and statewide engagement opportunities.
