SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC), representing the over 1.8 million community college students in California, congratulates Dr. Sonya Christian on her appointment as Chancellor of the California Community Colleges.
“Dr. Christian’s extensive experience spanning more than three decades in the community college system - from math faculty to chancellor of the Kern Community College District - make her uniquely qualified to take the helm of the state’s largest segment of public higher education. The SSCCC also deeply appreciates Interim Chancellor Dr. Daisy Gonzales’ leadership as the system navigated the uncertain time between permanent chancellors.
