SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) appreciates Governor Newsom’s continued dedication to California’s community college students in the 2025 - 26 January budget proposal. SSCCC supports the proposed 2.43-percent cost-of-living-adjustment, the $30 million expansion of the Rising Scholars Network, and looks forward to learning more about the expanded credit for prior learning proposal.

The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation, composed of 73 districts and 116 colleges serving two million students annually.
