Esmeralda Hernandez
My name is Esmeralda Hernandez, and I attend Santa Monica College, majoring in Sociology. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and commute to Santa Monica. I enjoy running, and even if I'm not the best, running holds a special significance. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I appreciate the value of family and community.
I am determined to make a difference for myself and those around me, especially my community. As I pave my path as a first-generation college student, I've discovered advocacy. Advocacy, to me, means learning about for important causes and sharing the stories behind them. I believe that through learning and growth, we can create a better world together. I am eager to continue my journey of self-discovery and advocacy, knowing that each step brings me closer to realizing my aspirations. As I pave my way forward, I am grateful for the support of my family, who instilled in me the values of kindness, respect, and family.
